When planning a trip to the Jersey Shore you have a choice to visit over 120 miles of oceanfront beaches. As you journey from Sandy Hook all the way south to Cape May you may want to visit one or more of the 63 public access beaches along the New Jersey coastline. Each public beach charges a daily rate per person for a beach badge to gain entry onto the sand and enjoy swimming while being looked after by USLA lifeguards. Fees vary by town and each beach offers a variety of activities for all ocean lovers.

Sandy Hook
Sandy Hook welcome travelers and tourists with it's pristine 7 mile long beach and breathtaking views of the Atlantic ocean and Manhattan. Sandy Hook is actually a National Park and is well known for it's military history and spectacular working lighthouse that offers daily tours all year. A year round oasis, these beaches offer excellent swimming and surfing conditions. Sandy Hook beach patrol has a separate maintenance crew to maintain spotless beaches throughout the day as they empty trash cans and clean the sand.
Ocean Grove
Nestled between Asbury Park and Bradley beach you will find the storybook village of Ocean Grove. This National Historic Site is approximately one square mile in size and boasts one of cleanest beaches on the New Jersey Shore. The open air boardwalk is perfect for strolling and bike riding on. The notorious pier extends out over the south end beach allowing folks to enjoy the sunrise and fireworks each week in high season. Ocean Grove beaches are very large and tend not to get overcrowded.Open and life-guarded in season Monday thru Saturday from 9 to 5:30 pm and Sundays from 12:30 -5:30pm. Daily and season badges are available.Chair and umbrella rentals available on the sand as well as a full service snack bar on each beach. Ocean Grove Beach Staff boasts a beach cleaning patrol of it's own who specialize in keeping the beaches and boardwalk completely spotless. Garbage cans located every 60 feet are emptied every hour and sand is sifted and cleaned twice a week in the early morning hours.
Spring Lake
Well known as "The Irish Riviera" the town of Spring Lake is filled with turn of the century mansions that hug the NJ coastline. Spring Lake is a year round town that offers many events for all of the seasons. The beaches are cleaned every week and no eating is permitted on the sand to ensure that no litter is displaced. Snacks can be eaten on the boardwalk and can be purchased at the snack stand. Public restrooms on the boardwalk are cleaned and the beach and boardwalk are maintained by a cleaning staff daily.
Wildwood
According to the natives, there is no other beach quite like Wildwood. With powdery white, clean sand and no fee to enter, this beach offers a free day filled with tranquility. Many activities are available such as volleyball, surfing and boogie boarding. Wildwood beaches are maintained by a beachfront staff who clean up the litter every day. Garbage cans are easily spotted and there are also volunteers who clean the sand in the off season. Wildwood beaches are a very popular tourist destination and tend to get very crowded. So get there early if you want to spend the day close to the water.
Cape May
With 5 star restaurants, shops and benches aligning a wonderful busy boardwalk, Cape May beaches are buzzing with fun throughout the summer. This popular tourist town offers a few different beaches for a day of fun beach loving activities. Enjoy laying out your towel on the soft sand and catching some rays. You can bring your own snacks on the sand and can dispose of any garbage in a nearby trash can in the sand or on the boardwalk. Cans are emptied once a day by a beachfront maintenance crew.Cape May is a family friendly historic town that hosts many visitors in their award winning bed and breakfasts and inns.
